Hi testers!
As ever, thank you all for helping test the game! It would definitely be a lot more buggy without all your excellent feedback and reports. This patch has a lot of significant changes to the balance of the game, which is pretty much impossible for me to test myself, so I'm very keen to hear how it plays for you all.
The focus of this patch is bringing down the "typical" game length; while it's been amazing to see how far some of you can get, I want to make sure that starting a game of PlateUp isn't always going to be 4 or 5 hour undertaking once you've had some practice.
I strongly suspect the balance for this will be off while I tweak things, so it'll be really helpful to get feedback on how far people can get in the new system.
Currently, Franchises are used up when you start a run with them, but I might make them have multiple uses or just allow you to keep a small set.
Aside from franchises, there's a lot of other small changes; in particular, losing before day 4 will now allow you to restart the day, which I hope will make the game less punishing for new players. It's also now possible to get Extra Life appliances when you finish a run. You can use one of your two garage loading slots to take this with you. If a customer leaves when you have an Extra Life, it will be destroyed but you won't lose the game.
You can also name your restaurant by using the sign outside the front.
