Starters, Sides, and Desserts are Recipes which fall outside of 
Mains and 
Extras, and are acquired over the course of a run through Cards.
While initially each customer is served just one Main, Starters and Desserts can bring the menu up to three courses. Customers will finish eating one course before moving on to the next, and return to the 
Thinking phase. Since this significantly increases the time spent in the restaurant, the number of Expected Groups is reduced for each new course added to the menu, in addition to the usual -15% 
indicated by the Card (-20% with two courses, and -33.3% with three). Starters and Desserts do not produce dirty plates, but 
Bread and Cheese Boards leave behind Serving Boards once eaten.
Sides are served alongside Mains, either on the same plate or separately. The Side does not have to match the Main for a given customer order, so long as they are all delivered to the group.
¶ Order Chance
Although every customer in every group is guaranteed to order a Main, the likelihood that other courses are requested is represented by Order Chance. This value increases for each Card of the respective type acquired (as well as with the 
Double Helpings Customer Card).
- Starters are ordered by every group, but not always every customer within a group. Order Chance applies on an individual basis starting from the second customer, as the first is guaranteed.
- Sides are ordered by some customers in some groups. Order Chance applies on an individual basis.
- Desserts are always ordered by every customer within a group, but not every group. Order Chance applies on a group basis.
