Cakes is a dessert Base Recipes that can be chosen in the Headquarters to start a run. Introduced in the Bakery update, this is the second dessert base recipe introduced in the game.
Until the player acquires a Main, all customer groups will have a 100% order chance of desserts, instead from the 25% chance, and all starters & side cards are unable to appear as options to be selected.
Cakes affects the customer's eating time. Depending on which cake is given to the customers, the eating duration will increase by a certain amount. If a group is given different desserts with different eating time modifiers, then the dessert with the largest modifier will take effect. This eating time modifier does not stack with other food sources like Black Coffee, but will stack multiplicatively from different non-food sources like Leisurely Eating or Sharp Cutlery.
Note: Cooking times listed below are standardised for a Hob at 1x , but all Cakes runs start with an Oven at 2x
Cakes are ordered differently than other dishes, with customers ordering a flavour of cake, rather than a specific item. As such, multiple different items can satisfy a customer, providing it is the matching flavour. For example, if a customer orders a Chocolate cake, the customer will accept a Chocolate Doughnut, Chocolate Cookie, Chocolate Cupcake, Chocolate Sponge Cake, or Brownie as their food.
Each type of cake (excluding Brownies) can be given one of 3 flavours:
